Barwon Learning Centre employs five School Learning Support Officers to assist teachers with their students.
Norm Sampson - School Learning Support Officer
My name is actually Gregory, but everyone knows me by my second name Norm. I first came to Moree in 1969 and have lived here ever since, working mostly for the railways and then homecare services over the 31 years to 2002. Through homecare I was approached to help tutor school children and this led to a full time position within the Department of Education whom I have enjoyed working for over the past 10 years. I am passionate with helping kids close the gap but more importantly believe that learning should be fun. I'm a keen rugby league player from my childhood days and follow two teams, the local Boomerangs and the South Sydney ‘Rabitohs'.
Sam Russell - School Learning Support Officer
I was born and raised in Moree and have lived here most my life. I have a keen interest in horses and spend most of my spare time caring for and training them. I love being part of the Moree community and country life in general. I love the positive influence my work allows me to give to children who come to Barwon, and I love the interaction that doing sport with them brings. My greatest joy is being with my family and having time to spend in my garden with destiny my granddaughter.
Dawn Barlow - School Learning Support Officer
I'm a local Kamilaroi lady and have lived in Moree all my life and I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am passionate about having each child reach their potential, and empowering our youth to be leaders of tomorrow. I love being a permanent member of the Barwon Learning team.
Kim Sampson - School Learning Support Officer
I am a Moree local and I love helping the Barwon students to achieve positive educational outcomes. I am also the BLC defending champion in handball.
